The Burn!
The Burn

This condition is felt by all mutants in Earth-X and is also the cause of death of most of them. 75% of all mutants undergoing the Burn do not survive! The Burn has several levels of intensity. Those who have yet to undergo the Burn are commonly known as Neo-mutants. It is only after surviving the Burn that a person becomes a full fledged mutant.
THIS IS PRESENTED IN OFFICIAL GAME TERMS AND I'LL WORK ON A READER FRIENDLY VERSION AS I GET TIME.

Level One:
The actual Burn manifests itself first as a burning pain in the stomach and chest regions. This pain is bearable, but gets worse as time passes or the Neo-mutant uses it's power.
PC's are -1CS to all feats and power rolls. There is no visible corona of energy as in later levels. Victims must make an Endurance roll to stay awake and then another (at +2CS) to stay alive.

Level Two:
The Burn then goes on to become a visible manifestation of the mutants power. This visible corona of reddish light covers the Neo-mutants whole body and radiates outward an inch or so. The internal pain grows incredibly as well to an uncomfortable level that hurts mentally as much as physically. All feat and power rolls are at -2CS. The victim must make saves to stay awake (-2CS) and one to survive (+1cs).

Level Three:
The corona discharge grows more hellish red and radiates almost a foot from the Neo mutants body. As well the inner burning pain becomes near impossible to ignore! Touching this corona causes (10) good damage to others, even those protected against fire! The Neo mutant also suffers -3CS to ALL rolls. He must make an endurance roll to stay conscious (-3CS) and to survive (normal)..

Level Four: The corona extends outward several feet now causing EX 20 damage to those nearby. As well, the internal pain is so bad all rolls made by the Neo mutant are at -4CS. An Endurance roll (-4CS) must be made to stay awake, then another ( -1cs) must be made to survive.

Level Five: The corona now extends five to six feet away and doing IN 40 damage to those subject to it. The inner burning is so bad that by this point all rolls fail except the two Endurance rolls needed to stay awake (-5CS) and survive (-2cs)! The Neo-mutant takes EX 20 damage himself as the damaging Burn begins to consume the Neo mutant from within!

Level Six: The corona has maxed out at 10 feet doing AM 50 damage to those touching the Neo, and doing RM 30 damage to those too close to him. The Neo also takes RM 30 damage himself this round. The Neo automatically fails his awake roll if still awake and must now survive an endurance roll (-3CS) to survive!

Level seven: Those lucky few who survive to this point are as dangerous to themselves as they are to those around them. Fiery energy radiates outward uncontrollably between 20 and 30 feet doing AM 50 damage to those around him and MN 75 to those in contact with the Neo mutant. The Neo himself takes IN 40 damage this round. The Neo is knocked out and must make one final roll of Endurance at (-4CS) or die a fiery death similar to that of spontaneous combustion, leaving only charred broken bones behind should he fail.

Failure at any level results in the immediate consumption of the Neo mutant, killing him instantly and causing damage to the area around him. The damage and radius is equal to the corona and the level of Burn the Neo is undergoing.

Level One
To the right is how a neo-mutate appears at the first onset of the BURN. Intense pain and the beginning of her body to glow are all signs and symptoms of the mutational curse.

The Final Stage
